1. About PairChamp
PairChamp is a tournament assistance platform designed to help organizers manage chess tournaments and to help players view tournament information such as entries, pairings, results, and standings.
PairChamp is not an official rating authority and does not replace federation-certified pairing or rating systems.
2. Eligibility & Acceptable Use
You may use PairChamp only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
- You agree not to misuse the platform or attempt to disrupt its operation
- You agree not to submit false, misleading, or unauthorized information
- You agree not to access data you are not authorized to view
3. Organizer Responsibilities
Tournament organizers and administrators are solely responsible for:
- Accuracy of tournament information
- Correct player data, ratings, and sections
- Pairings, results, standings, and tie-breaks
- Official submissions to external systems (US Chess, FIDE, chess.com, Swiss tools, etc.)
4. Player Responsibilities
Players are responsible for reviewing their displayed information and promptly contacting the organizer if corrections are needed.
Players may not modify tournament data directly unless explicitly authorized.
5. External Links & Third-Party Services
PairChamp may display links to external platforms such as WhatsApp, Discord, Telegram, chess.com, or other websites provided by tournament organizers.
- PairChamp does not control or moderate third-party services
- Use of third-party platforms is at your own risk
- Third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies
6. Privacy & Data Use
PairChamp collects and stores only the data necessary to operate tournaments and display tournament information.
Data may include:
- Player names, ratings, and identifiers provided by organizers
- Tournament structure, pairings, results, and standings
- Optional communication links provided by organizers
How data is used:
- To display tournament information to participants
- To generate reports and exports for organizers
- To operate and improve the PairChamp platform
PairChamp does not sell or rent personal data to third parties.
Organizers are responsible for ensuring they have the right to collect and use participant data.
7. Availability & Service Limitations
PairChamp is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
- Service availability is not guaranteed
- Features may change or be discontinued at any time
- Temporary outages or data issues may occur
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PairChamp shall not be liable for:
- Incorrect pairings, results, or standings
- Missed submissions or rejected uploads to external systems
- Loss of data, ratings, or tournament outcomes
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
9. Changes to These Terms
PairChamp may update these Terms of Use and Privacy provisions from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing Principles
These terms are intended to provide clear expectations for use of the PairChamp platform. They do not create any partnership, employment, or agency relationship.
